• Utilizing their victim’s identity to enter a government facility like what happened in an army base which was close to Washington DC.
• Destroy their victim’s driving records by violating a lot of traffic laws and when ticketed they would use their victim’s identity.
• Committing felony while using their victim’s identity. The victim could be accused and be put in jail because of a crime done by the thief.
• Immigrating or bringing people in the country using their victim’s passport.

These are just some reasons why you should be careful with what you do. You should be aware of them and of identification theft prevention ways to avoid a number of possible things that could happen when you are not the only one using your identity. Usually, identity thieves peek through your mails to get valuable information about you since your mail is an open area where you unknowingly place a lot of information about yourself.

• Do not place outgoing mails on your mailbox especially when you are to send credit card payments or other bill payments. When you do, you just give identification thieves a chance. You could just use the government’s postal service mailboxes instead.
• If you still want to use your own mailbox, the best identification theft prevention thing that you can do is use a locked mailbox with only a slot.
• Avoid placing your account number on the envelope that you would use to send out bill payments.
• When you go out of town, ask someone you trust or the post office to hold your mails until get back home.
